PGM 101. Orientation. (0.5 Credits)
I, II. PGM 101 introduces students to the components of a PGA Golf Management education, the golf industry, the role of a PGA member; the organizational structure of the PGA of America, and the Rules of Golf. (For Marketing Majors PGM concentration Only.)

PGM 201. Introduction to Golf Management. (3 Credits)
II. Formerly MGT 201. Prerequisite: Admission to the PGM program, and successful completion of the PGA Qualifying Level. A survey course that introduces students to the elements of the industry in which a PGA professional must be competent; an introduction to business planning, and customer relations. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 201.

PGM 202. Introduction to Golf Instruction. (3 Credits)
I. Formerly MGT 202. Prerequisite: admission to the PGM program, and MGT 201 or PGM 201. Introduction to human learning, the teaching process, and the elements of the game. Topics include laws, principles, and preferences of the golf swing, biomechanics, and teaching technologies. The course also addresses golf club performance variables. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 202.

PGM 203. Golf Operations I. (3 Credits)
II. Formerly MGT 203. Prerequisite: admission to the PGM program, and MGT 202 or PGM 202. The fundamental concepts involved in developing a facility’s tournament business including promotion, implementation, and review, will be introduced. Students will also gain an in-depth knowledge of golf car fleet management and the Rules of Golf. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 203.

PGM 204. Golf Operations II. (3 Credits)
I. Formerly MGT 204. Prerequisites: admission to the PGM program, MGT 203 or PGM 203, and successful completion of all PGA Level 1 requirements. An introduction to golf operations; policies and procedures; effectively managing staff resources; and measuring overall performance. The course will also introduce merchandising and inventory management concepts. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 204.

PGM 205. Analysis of the Golf Swing. (3 Credits)
II. Formerly MGT 205. Prerequisite: admission to the PGM program, MGT 204 or PGM 204 and successful completion of all PGA Level 1 requirements. A focus on techniques that help the student improve his/her golf skills; describes drills, warm-ups, and shot techniques for intermediate students. The course also discusses golf fitness and performance. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 205.

PGM 306. Golf Administration. (3 Credits)
I, II. Formerly MGT 206. Prerequisites: admission to the PGM program, successful completion of all PGA Level 2 requirements, and MGT 205 or PGM 205. A study of golf operations and administration to include a deeper look at business planning; and a performance system for supervising employees. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 206.

PGM 307. Advance Golf Instruction & Special Programs. (3 Credits)
I, II. Formerly MGT 207. Prerequisite: admission to the PGM program, successful completion of all PGA Level 2 requirements, and MGT 206 or PGM 306. Emphasizes the integration of learning, teaching, and game elements. Covers elements of the mental game and more advanced shot-making. Club fitting procedures will be covered and the development of instructional programs will be introduced. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 207.

PGM 310. Golf Operation III. (3 Credits)
Formerly MGT 210. Prerequisites: admission to the PGM program, successful completion of PGA Level 2 requirements, and MGT 206 or PGM 306. A study of food service centers as revenue opportunities for a golf facility. The course will include a career enhancement component, a capstone assignment, and the PGA Business Simulation. Credit will not be awarded to students who have credit for MGT 210.
