LAT 101. Beginning Latin I. (3 Credits)
A. Study of basic inflections, syntax, pronunciation, and vocabulary necessary for the reading and progressive understanding of the Latin language. Particular attention is given to cultural topics and to the relationship of Latin to English. Gen. Ed. VIII.

LAT 102. Beginning Latin II. (3 Credits)
A. Recommended: one unit of high school Latin or LAT 101. A continuation of the study of the elements of Latin grammar with additional work in translation of selections from Latin writers of appropriate complexity. Some composition on cultural topics included. Students entering LAT 102 by referral or placement receive three hours credit for LAT 101 if they make an ¿A¿ in 102. Gen. Ed. VIII.
