EKU’s Student Success Advising helps students explore majors and career interests, make informed academic decisions, and select courses that align with their academic goals and university requirements.

Major Coaching

Student Success Advisors help students explore majors that align with their interests, skills, strengths, and goals.

Through one-on-one conversations and major exploration tools, advisors help students better understand their options, identify majors to explore, and develop a realistic plan for moving forward.

Advising

Most undergraduate students at EKU are assigned an academic advisor based on their major or academic program. Faculty and professional advisors within the colleges provide advising for students who have declared a major.

Student Success Advising provides academic advising for Exploratory students, students not meeting KY academic readiness standards and assigned to the Associate of General Studies (AGS) program, visiting students, and non-degree-seeking students.

Academic advising is a partnership between students and advisors. Advisors help students understand degree requirements, select appropriate courses, develop an academic plan, navigate university processes, and connect with resources that support their success.

Student Success Advising supports students by:

  • Providing year-round academic advising and support for Exploratory and AGS students.
  • Helping students develop academic plans that align with their educational goals.
  • Providing major exploration and decision-making support.
  • Connecting students with appropriate campus resources and support services.
  • Providing individualized academic planning and support for students experiencing academic challenges.
