Interdisciplinary Human Sciences Education, Bachelor of Science (B.S.)

The Interdisciplinary Human Sciences Education major offers two concentrations: Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education.
The Family and Consumer Sciences Education concentration leads graduates to Kentucky public school certification for teaching FCS in middle school and high school, advise local FCCLA chapters, and possess excellent qualifications for working with 4-H youth or in FCS educator positions with the USDA Cooperative Extension Service.
The Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education concentration leads graduates to Kentucky public school certification for teaching children birth through age five. Graduates learn to prepare individual education plans for children who experience developmental delays and support plans to assist families of those children. IECE graduates will be able to teach in private agencies serving infants to two-year-olds and public school settings (Pre-K, three and four-year-olds, and kindergarten not connected with primary programs for first through third grade).
